Saturday 28 March 2-4pm

OmNom Birmingham

Spring reminds us that life is always quietly unfolding.

Join me for an extended Jivamukti practice exploring Abundance Within, inspired by the balancing energy of the Spring Equinox. 🌱

The Jivamukti method was founded by Sharon Gannon and David Life in New York City in 1984, and integrates the physical, psychological and spiritual aspects of yoga. Each Jivamukti offering incorporates the five tenets of the method: Ahiṃsā: Non-Harming, Bhakti: Devotion, Dhyāna: Meditation, Nāda: Sound, Śāstra: Studying the teaching of the masters.

Expect a beautiful extended practice of dynamic vinyasa-based asana practice, hands-on adjustments, breath awareness, Sanskrit chanting, music, philosophy and meditation.

Moving Into Stillness

Menopause Yoga Workshop

30 January 2022 10am - 1pm

Newman Community Centre, Boldmere

All women will experience the menopause.

The fluctuating and gradually falling level of oestrogen taking place during the peri-menopause, can lead to early signs of the symptoms more often associated with the menopause such as hot flushes, night sweats, mood changes, disturbed sleep, joint aches and change in weight and distribution of fat. Lack of sleep can lead to fatigue and exacerbate other symptoms such as braingfog, overwhelm and anxiety. Symptoms may be initially mild and, because periods are still present, are often not recognised as being hormone related.

Menopause yoga is a unique combination of yoga poses, breathing techniques and mindful meditation practices that have been specially adapted to help women manage the main symptoms of menopause. Through Menopause Yoga, we educate and empower women so that we can embrace the changes in our minds, bodies and emotions as we transition through peri-menopause, menopause and into post-menopause. Let’s re-frame the menopause and take back some control over our symptoms.

In this 3 hour workshop, we will come together in a women’s circle to share experiences, discuss symptoms and ways that menopause yoga can help in managing these. There will be an energising yoga practice, focusing on relieving symptoms such as brain fog, overwhelm & fatigue that can often occur through menopause. A variety of props would be useful for this workshop - a bolster/pillow/cushion, 2 bricks or blocks, 2 blankets, a yoga strap (with a buckle), an eye pillow, a pen and a notebook.
